Room for everyone

Houses for Generations

Whole houses for the whole family: a hilltop Residence in Fiji, an exclusive-use villa in the Maasai Mara, a 1930s lake house in Austria, staffed villas in Bali, a Tuscan estate of private villas, a staffed sea-view villa on Capri, pool villas of four and five bedrooms on Hvar, three-bedroom Reserves on a Vietnamese bay, a four-suite villa above Lake Wakatipu, a sole-use house between Lake Hāwea and Lake Wānaka, and a garden haveli in Rajasthan.

The idea

Houses for Generations

When three generations travel together, the house matters as much as the place: bedrooms enough for everyone to sleep well, a table long enough for all of them, and people on hand so that the parents have a holiday too. These are the stays we hold for whole families: houses taken in their entirety, residences with staff of their own, and one garden house in Rajasthan paced for every age.

On Fiji’s Kadavu, Kokomo Private Island sets five hilltop Residences of three to six bedrooms above the Great Astrolabe Reef, each with its own pool, house butler and house nanny. Nannies care for the under-fours, the Kaji Kids Club takes ages four to eight, and a Teens Club runs to fifteen.

In the Maasai Mara, Cottar’s Bush Villa is an exclusive-use house of five en-suite bedrooms on a private hilltop on the Olderkesi Conservancy, with a 25-metre pool, private chefs, and a dedicated safari guide and vehicle for the household alone.

In Laikipia, beneath Mount Kenya, Sirai House is the Spencer family’s own Kenyan home, taken exclusively: six suites across four wings for up to twelve, two pairs of suites joined by shared sitting rooms, a team of more than 40, and a waterhole below the house where elephant and rhino come to drink.

On Austria’s Lake Grundlsee, Villa Anna is a restored 1930s summer residence reserved exclusively as a whole: five bedrooms and suites, a library with billiards, generous salons, and a terrace over the water toward the Totes Gebirge.

On Bali’s southern peninsula, Aman Villas at Nusa Dua is villa-only: freestanding multi-bedroom residences with private pools and dedicated villa teams, for weeks when privacy and staffing matter most.

Near Volterra, Borgo Pignano scatters nine private villas of two to six bedrooms, each with its own pool and garden, across a 750-acre organic estate. La Fonte sleeps up to eleven beside one of the estate’s lakes, and the riding centre welcomes children from their very first pony ride.

On Capri, Villa Giada is taken whole: four double suites over two floors in Anacapri, the master suite a floor of its own, a pool with a diving board, and a chef, butler and concierge in the house, with babysitting arranged on request.

On the Cilento Coast south of Salerno, Villa Le Cannicelle is the De Nardo family’s own sea-view villa, taken whole: five bedrooms over three self-contained floors for up to fourteen, ten adults and four children, with an infinity pool above the Gulf of Policastro and a taverna table for everyone.

On Croatia’s Hvar, Maslina Resort Villas are three houses on Maslinica Bay of four and five bedrooms, up to ten guests at Villa Uvala, each with a heated pool, a garden and a professional kitchen for a private chef, and the resort’s playroom, beach and spa a short walk through the pines.

On Vietnam’s Ninh Van Bay, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay keeps three Reserves of three bedrooms for up to six, two of them reached by private speedboat with waterslides into their pools, alongside two-bedroom Family Beach Pool Villas on the sand and Vooc Village, a kids club of fifty-eight activities for ages four to twelve.

At the head of New Zealand’s Lake Wakatipu, The Villa at Blanket Bay is a stone-and-timber house of four King suites on the hill above Blanket Bay Lodge, taken as two bedrooms or four, with a chef in its own kitchen and twin hot tubs on the lawn. It is how the lodge welcomes families with children under ten.

Between Lake Hāwea and Lake Wānaka in New Zealand’s Central Otago, Mt Isthmus Villa is a sole-use house of four suites on a private 7,000-acre high-country estate, with a games room, a media room, a private chef and a Villa Host for the household alone.

Facing Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica, Nayara Tented Camp keeps six Family Tents, two tents joined around a shared private pool, and two Private Residences, Casa Paloma and Casa Dana, each a pair of family tents around a villa with a full kitchen, a fire pit and a hot spring fed infinity pool for up to twelve adults, looked after by a personal concierge.

In Rajasthan, Amanbagh is a haveli in the Ajabgarh countryside, its suites and pool pavilions set in Mughal-garden courtyards beneath the Aravalli hills. It suits families who want India at a pace every generation can keep: early starts, long shaded middays by the pool, and fort-country drives when the stone cools.

For a wedding, a family reunion or a milestone with the whole house reserved, continue to Weddings & Celebrations.

For a family week on the water, Private Islands holds islands kept by a single house, and Mediterranean Hills gathers villas in olive country with room for everyone.

Amanbagh

Amanbagh rests in Ajabgarh’s countryside as Mughal-inspired palace-garden living: arched courtyards, pool light, and arid Rajasthan landscape held away from Jaipur’s busiest wedding corridors. Exclusive Villa Collection recommends…
