May through October is the classic Aegean season: warm water, long evenings, and the hillside houses at their most open. July and August bring peak heat and marina crowds: midday shade and villa pools matter more than sightseeing lists.

August fills the villas and beach-club tables first, and Christmas and midsummer are best reserved early. May to June and September to October reward travelers who want the same water with fewer boats on the horizon. Winter can be quietly beautiful, when cottages and heating are open.
