Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is Bali’s planned south: calm, reef-protected beaches, wide gardens and a golf course on the eastern side of the Bukit peninsula. It is the shortest drive from the airport and the easiest base for a family, with the cliff temples of Uluwatu and the restaurants of Jimbaran close by.

Our stay here is Aman Villas at Nusa Dua: private villas with their own pools, gardens and staff, set above the course with views to the sea. A villa holds a family or a group of friends with room to spare, and the household rhythm is yours, from breakfast on the terrace to a chef cooking at home.

Nusa Dua suits multigenerational families, golfers and groups who want space and privacy close to the airport. It sits in our Houses for Generations collection. Pair it with Ubud for culture, East Bali for the coast, or a week at sea with Indonesia Voyages. Our Indonesia guide covers the rest.

When and how

Light, season, and the arrival

Each season keeps its own calendar. We plan the transfer around it.

Best time to visit

When the light is right

The dry season, roughly April to October, is the classic time, with sunny days and lower humidity. November to March is warmer and wetter, with tropical showers that usually pass by evening.

Seasonality

When to go

July, August, Christmas and New Year book first, and villas for larger families go earliest. Nyepi closes the airport and the island for a day each year. Villas make the wet season easy, since the pool and the house are always there.

Airport / logistics

Arriving without hurry

Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is usually twenty to thirty minutes away by car, the shortest transfer on the island. Ubud is about an hour and a half north and East Bali about two hours, so a two-stay week is simple to arrange.

  • A chef at home Balinese and Indonesian cooking in the villa kitchen, or a lesson with the chef for curious guests.
  • Golf by the sea A round on the course in Nusa Dua, then the afternoon by the pool.

Traveler questions

Before your Nusa Dua week

  • How far is Nusa Dua from the airport? Usually twenty to thirty minutes by road from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), the shortest transfer on the island.
  • Are Aman Villas suitable for large families? Yes. Each villa has its own pool and staff, with several bedrooms, so grandparents, parents and children can share one house.
  • Can we combine Nusa Dua with Ubud? Yes. Ubud is about an hour and a half away, so many families spend a few nights in the hills at Amandari and finish at the villa.
