Aman’s Playa Grande house on the Dominican Republic’s north coast: cliff and beach pavilions above the Atlantic, golf and spa days, and villa-scale privacy when the week should feel like a private coastal estate.

Playa Grande, Dominican Republic
Amanera occupies a cliff-and-jungle stretch of Dominican coast near Playa Grande: casita living, a serious spa, and golf or beach hours at a humane pace. Exclusive Villa Collection sends clients here when the Caribbean should feel wilder than a manicured all-inclusive strip: not Punta Cana paste, not a Turks reef twin, not a generic “DR luxury” brochure that ignores jungle-and-cliff adjacency.Casita and casa categories are confirmed for your dates; we match the key to how you host. Plan My Trip sequences Amanera against Amanyara or Amanvari when the Americas should hold more than one water register (reef, cliff, or East Cape) in one advisory arc.

The house
A first reading of the stay: rooms, light, and the quiet between them. Each still is a note, not a catalogue.
The Experience
Mornings open to jungle-and-sea light; middays move between spa, pool, and beach or golf; evenings hold dining with cliff quiet. Soft inclusions and course calendars are confirmed with the house for your dates. The pace rewards travelers who want nature adjacency without giving up Aman service, and who accept that this coast is not a strip walk.
Exclusive Villa Collection holds the casita with transfers, celebration dining, and spa hours that peak holiday weeks fill early. Pair with Amanyara for reef-plus-cliff Caribbean, or with Aman New York when city should bookend coast. Plan My Trip when peak season needs one advisor thread before Playa Grande inventory thins.
Why EVC loves it
Inside the stay
Where you sleep, what you eat, and how you arrive: the essentials, in brief.
Rooms / Suites / Villas
Pavilion suites and larger residences with Atlantic and garden outlooks.
Dining
Resort dining with coastal evenings; in-pavilion dining on request. Dietary and celebration notes are shared ahead of arrival.
Spa & Wellness
Aman Spa for sun and Atlantic recovery. Treatments are best planned around golf and beach days.
Beach / Pool
The Atlantic beach is there for sand days; pavilion and residence pools are private. Surf and swell vary.
Who it is best for
Travelers who want Dominican coast with Aman casita quiet; couples and golf-or-spa parties; those pairing Amanera with Turks or Baja. Not for travelers seeking all-inclusive strip energy, nightlife corridors outside the estate, or a last-minute casita in peak holiday weeks.
Getting there
Puerto Plata (POP) is often the closer airport; Punta Cana (PUJ) can work with longer transfers. Private aviation options exist. Your advisor arranges the car as part of the stay.
Seasonality
Winter dry season is peak. Shoulder months can be excellent and quieter. Hurricane-season weeks are planned with the resort and its transfers. Holiday weeks are best reserved early.
