The house
A first reading of the stay: rooms, light, and the quiet between them. Each still is a note, not a catalogue.
The Experience
Cayo Espanto is Belize’s most intimate private-island resort: a cay of its own off Ambergris Caye, minutes by boat from San Pedro, with only a handful of villas and no resort village to dilute the week. Exclusive Villa Collection holds it for travelers who want a dedicated houseman (butler), chef-tailored meals, private plunge pools, and barrier-reef mornings that begin from their own pier. We inquire for availability and quote with the house; we do not publish package starting figures as live offers on this page.
Unlike traditional luxury resorts, the island is built around customization: no crowds, no public reservation theater, no schedule that owns your day. Villas such as Casa Solana, Casa Ventanas, Casa Brisa, Casa Manana, Casa Olita, Casa Aurora, and Casa Estrella each open to Caribbean water with verandahs, docks, and plunge culture that keep the stay villa-led. Snorkeling the Belize Barrier Reef, paddle hours, spa treatments over the sea, and private sunset dining sit beside optional mainland Maya or rainforest days when the itinerary asks.
Arrival is typically Belize City (BZE) → San Pedro on Ambergris Caye → boat to Cayo Espanto, with greeting assistance and daily boat runs between the island and San Pedro when the stay framing includes them. Photography on this page is credited Photo: Cayo Espanto.
Why EVC loves it
Inside the stay
Where you sleep, what you eat, and how you arrive: the essentials, in brief.
Rooms / Suites / Villas
A handful of villas, most with a private dock and an infinity plunge pool: overwater Casa Ventanas with its glass floor, Casa Solana on the sunset tip, and two-bedroom Casa Estrella.
Dining
Chef-tailored meals are central to the stay: three daily meals prepared around the household, with drinks typically included on all-inclusive stays, and private dockside and sunset tables.
Spa & Wellness
Spa treatments overlooking the Caribbean, in pier and beach settings that keep wellness island-quiet.
Beach / Pool
Each villa’s private infinity plunge pool, dock, and beach edge are the swimming culture, not a shared resort pool deck. Calm Caribbean shallows invite paddle hours; the barrier reef waits a private-boat ride away.
Who it is best for
Couples and honeymooners seeking Caribbean private-island intimacy; small households who want butler and chef service without a resort village; travelers pairing reef mornings with villa-led evenings; celebrations that fit a single villa or a quiet island. Ideal for San Pedro boat arrivals who want Ambergris geography without San Pedro nightlife as the focus.
Getting there
Fly into Philip S. W. Goldson International (BZE) near Belize City, connect to San Pedro (SPR) on Ambergris Caye, then boat to Cayo Espanto. The property offers airport greeting assistance and daily boat transportation between the island and San Pedro. Exclusive Villa Collection can arrange local flights and transfers with the villa.
Seasonality
December to April is the classic drier, clearer window. Summer and early fall bring warmer water and possible tropical weather. With only a handful of villas, holiday weeks are best reserved early; longer stays may include a complimentary reef snorkeling charter.
